Beauty Influencers

In today’s scrolling and trolling world, there’s so much noise out there — especially when it comes to sifting through your social media feed. It seems everyone (and their mother) claims to be a health or wellness “influencer” these days. But be warned: not all influencers are equal, in the sense that without true expertise, the quality of information out there being pinned and posted can suffer. So we went in search of the best influencers publishing interesting, high-quality, engaging material on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest and curated our top five social media influencers in the health, beauty and wellness spaces.

No more headache or hassle of deciding who to follow, and you can kiss your noisy newsfeed goodbye. Follow these influencers for daily content that’s sure to inspire your own life, on and off the screen.

1. BEST FOODIE: Instagram’s Chef Carla Contreras, @ChefCarla_C

You already know we love Chef Carla Contreras from our Facebook giveaways and Live events featuring this creative and firey foodie. But we just have to reiterate why we work with her: she’s a culinary badass. Carla has competed on Food Network’s Chopped as well as Cook Your Ass Off on CNN’s HLN channel, and is a professionally trained chef with a miles-long list of cool gigs under her belt, including pulling off private parties for prominent Manhattan families and working for Celebrity Chef Daniel Boulud. Even beyond her expertise though, we can’t get enough of her fresh voice on social media, and her innovative (realistic!) approach to cooking at home. From tasty flourless pizza dough to salad solutions your kids will eat and love, she’s got it down. Plus, she takes gorgeous photos of good food!

2. BEST LIFESTYLE: Facebook’s Lucie Fink, @TryLivingWithLucie

Handsdown, for the best all-around life intel in 4-5 minute video clips, Refinery 29’s producer Lucie Fink nails it. Her weekly show Try Living With Lucie catalogues her journey as she explores cool topics in the health and wellness spaces. In comical, animation-and-graphic supported short episodes, she cleverly gives insights to the modern woman on everything from properly hydrating to exploring new cities, and from DIY makeup tricks to trying the Paleo Diet. The premise? She’ll do anything for a week and tell you about it. You’ll be totally shocked at how much you can learn about Ayurveda in just a few minutes! Her show is captivating, and 100% digestible on your lunch break. (And binge watching is totally OK, we won’t tell anyone.)

3. BEST BEAUTY: Pinterest’s Suzi Swope, @GurlGoneGreen

Aside from its infectious popularity among the DIY crowd, the coolest thing about Pinterest is that it’s our 21st century version of the scrapbooks we made as kids, and an excuse to make inspirational collages as adults. When it comes to natural beauty, we can’t get enough of Suzie Swope’s Gurl Gone Green Pinterest boards. Before she became a wellness and clean ingredient blogger, she was an organic hair stylist for 14 years, so she packs a punch of knowledge on the evolution of the beauty industry and how cutting out fragrances, chemicals, and synthetic ingredients in your beauty products can do wonders for your wellness routine. From cleanser reviews to using essential oils and glow-boosting smoothie recipes, Gurl Gone Green publishes inspiring, informational beauty Pins you can’t live without.
